Our nation's future ?

Most would have heard about the "white paper" saga. Yes, it is one of the hottest topic in the country. In a nutshell, our government is saying that we will be increasing our population to 6,900,000 people living in the little red dot. In 2006: Total Population: 4million Singaporean: 3million PR: 290,000 Non-Residents: 750,000   In 2011: Total Population: 5million Singaporean: 3.2 million (63%) PR: 541,000 (11%) Non-Residents: 1.3million (26%) Non-reisdents and PRs have increased tremendously while "real" Singaporean has diluted. And if you must know, I can personally guarantee you that out of the 200k increase in Singaporeans, more than 50% are "fake" Singaporeans. The word used may be harsh and I'd agree on that but fact remains, they are converted Singaporeans. Many still have yet any idea why the uproar. Anyway here's a preview from a local youth     hey curious. what's your view on the 6.9m population thingy  u...

Funeral

What's the purpose of a funeral, the great Dr Sunny Goh once said, "The dead has left, what's left, is to appease the living" It's my 3rd funeral in less than 3 months, 5th in the last 2 years, I've not attended this much funerals in my entire life. My grand-uncle, who is my grandmother's elder brother, passed. He was like a grandfather to me, often cheering me and giving a pat on my back all the time when i was a kid. A great man who had no regrets leaving this world, leaving his wife, 3 daughters and 2 grandchildren. Scene at the crematorium was beyond words, his wife, my grand-aunt, was absolutely inconsolable, cries of sadness became howls of disbelief and unwillingness to accept the loss of her most beloved man, a man who meant the whole world to her. 1st time in my life, I understood what mourning was, the shrieks of sorrow will forever be remembered. ---- So what is a funeral for? His siblings came, and so did his cousins, as I stood...

Women - we men can't live, without

I was brought up to treat female with the greater respect. Not simply because they, are physically weaker then men, but they are truly inspirational and respectable human, evidently in the power of the mother, no questions asked. Holding doors, giving up seats, giving way and being polite are basic courtesy that all men should have, towards women. At least, that WAS what I truly believed, then. Came the era where finally, women are given the opportunity and full access to the vast abundance of knowledge; Education. Education or knowledge itself, is to provide wisdom and power to each and every human being, that said, 2 major end product in this process - Wisdom & Power. ------------ Power 1a (1) : ability to act or produce an effect (2) : ability to get extra-base hits (3) : capacity for being acted upon or undergoing an effect vs 2a : possession of control, authority, or influence over others Wisdom the quality or state of being wise; knowledge of what is true or right coupled...

hmmm.

It's Heading to my 26th years as a human being, a Singaporean, a son and a person, there's much to share, tell and change about the life and world we live in. It definitely cannot be summarized into a simple blog post, hence, this will be sharerd in parts. Chapter 1: My life, my way, my style Chapter 2: My peers, my support. Chapter 2: My country, my home Chapter 3: Poverty at a glimpse Chapter 4: Expectations & Disappointments Chapter 5: Onwards and forward. There was too much "noise" then I'd expect, when I've decided to have a go at the "irreversible" body art. To which, I was quite disappointed but then I guess those reponses are quite right. "To venture into a Pisces world is to lose track of which way is up, down, forward and back" @PiscesAreUs I don't open myself naturally, so here's a peak into what I think I really am It's really hard to follow through for the blogpost, hence I'm canning this...

Disorientation

Disorient: to throw into a state of mental uncertainty disoriented by the sudden change in battle plans> In less than 11 workdays or less than 15 days, I will complete my first contract term with Deutsche Bank. I will be back in January 2013 to continue a short term of 3 months. I still remembered visiting their office years back when Caron's there, I was still in OCBC. I will always buy food over and eat at their pantry, admiring at the class lobby, luxurious and spacious pantry with the sophisticated foreign bank's "branding". 3 years on, here I am, living the dream I once dreamed about. During one of our personality evaluation training session at OCBC, there was a section to teach us to visualize and write down our short term vision aand I wrote "DEUTSCHE BANK EMPLOYEE in 3 years time" Laws of attraction -  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_%28book%29 Not sure if anyone knew or read about this, in short, we become what we think about...

whatafuckupworld

continuation to my previous entry, dreams eluded, transformed or manipulated... I began to look for power into my teens. What power? power over your peers, power amongst your seniors, with power comes respect, glam, reputation, "wind" ... Into adulthood, power = money or cars... I've a dad with a nice ride, but I do not have the $$ to sustain the ride. I work and work , read and read just to get ahead of everyone else. Eventually I ended up in a bank, where the money was. . . . My grandpa died, yeah, you might be confused, last year my paternal grandpa passed on, 2weeks from today, and right now, my maternal grandpa passed on. Both of them lived till ripe years of 70+, had great grandchildren and passed on peacefully. This morning, he left while sipping coffee and reading papers waiting for his breakfast to arrive, in peace. The older folks around the estate said he loved us so much that he left 3 meals for us children, grandchildren and great grandchildren b...
