socializing

It's a big word, a huge word in fact, so much so that people are taking their lives when they fail to "perform". Finally it's official, promoted to the title of Assistant Vice President where everyone's base salary is S$10,000 mine's not even se7en, where the next line after announcing your promotion came your annual bonus which turns out to be a pathetic S$1,563.00. After which they ask if you would like to attend the promotion dinner, obviously not.

That, at the last part is a request to socialize.

Met my aunts over the tomb sweeping weekend, had a chat with her on simple stuff and then they started going on how bad is it to not have a degree blablabla and of course I shared that my bonus was pathetic to make her feel better about how she's doing and she rattle on about how her base is actually not low and they pay loadsa bonus compared to mine. You could almost see the glitter in her eyes, the joy and pride... that was lunch.

Back at my grandparents, the other auntie came along to justify why her daughter isn't in the Finance / Accounting / Audit sector because at banks in her area, any Tom Dick and Harry can work in a bank. Fair enough statement, it's legit, tellers do not require much paper to be eligible, still they need to be well versed in people skills, language skills to help their clients and at times product knowledge too, what's more they are remunerated quite well with really fantastic benefits and working hours. Tried to explain to her that I do not work in a branch but she could not understand so I left it as it is. It's really hard to become huamn, if you do too well, people can't wait for you to fall, if you ain't up there, they trample upon you to make themselves feel better, can't we just be left alone? But of course I definitely could do the latter.

On our way back, my parents asked how did my sister and myself took all these so well without batting and eyelid, raising any bit of our voice and sound so sincere. Mom and Dad, we negotiate through the wilderness amongst Lions, Tigers and Wolves, but these are not the ones that are not the ones that will kill you, it's the Hyenas, Foxes and Crows that stood by and pounce onto us the impalas. If we cannot even communicate effectively with the fools, how are we going to convince the wise?

That said, I've been re-reading Confucius teachings and it clearly opposite of what i practice, many of it make sense but not cents yet to be on the path of wisdom, one should really see past cents to sense. I'm still so far from enlightenment.

Still can't confirm my Toronto trip this year because of some movement within the team, only stuff to look forward's a fishing trip 14th April, Good Friday and then Korea in May, then my house should be ready for collection before Christmas. Not that bad after all ~

Can't believe I actually took time to update and maintain our YEI Forum. Never knew I could be this crazy, but I know 1 thing for sure, it's never too late to start? But I'm really, growing too old for this. Ye Eun simply gorgeous! Credit: yeeun-impact.net / yeeun.wordpress.com And I blew up during dinner...
While caking, someone pop right into my head. Anyway, my top strength is: 1. Ideation: loves associating and providing ideas 2. Command: leadership, loves to put his ideas through 3. Futurist: star-trek 4. Individualisation: view individual base on strength weakness, not stereotyping 5. Learner: keen to learn In short, I'm a futuristic creative open commander! Sounds awesome eh? Strength Finder 2.0 is a book that only concentrate on strengths ($39.00) zero about weaknesses so all you hear are good stuff. ======= Individualisation Anyway back to my caking session. Mr Ibrahim, came to my mind. He was quite a good looking Indian back in my primary school days. I've always tried to protect him though I admit to join in bullying him once in a while. Sometimes he'd come to me "begging" to help him or lend him money with his hands in "praying mode". I took pity of him ever since he did that once and when he told me "All i got is 40cents a day and they sto

The Pioneer LX55 Bluray Player Review

Pioneer Corporations, once the leading company for Home Theatre Systems, Display and Optical players, began to falter when the likes of Samsung, LG, Sharp etc came into picture with lower end products for the mass consumer. Pioneer, who steer clear form the niche market, producing high end products, fell to it's knees, withdrawing from the TVs market and started a joint venture with Sharp, resulted in absolute catastrophe. Pioneer fanboys nicknamed the products "Sharpioneer" A bold direction, right or wrong, there's too much points to take, although myself would 200% standby their decision to continue with making highend products previously, even though they failed eventually. Anyhow, ever since that catastrophic "Sharpioneer" released, tons of consumers ditched their players within days of purchases, the management finally woke the FUCK UP. Director Product Planning and Marketing Pioneer USA, Chris Walker started visiting multiple online forums, gat
