Making up: to become reconciled ;quarreled but later made up
A classic example of making up... She was a small petite girl in glasses & and he was a slightly build, rugged looking man in his early 30s.
No one would have noticed that they were couple until he shielded her from a very inconsiderate man with a bulky backpack barging his way through the sardine-packed crowd. She was looking pretty upset and angry with him for reasons we would never know and it was written all over her face, but he didn't quite bother to do much.
All of a sudden, he whispered goodbye and gave her a quick peck on her lips. She was in shock, but regained her senses quickly, grabbed his arm and lost her icy-cold poker face. Then the look of remorse appeared, not yet ready to let him go, she tug him back gently. He gave her a weak smile, held her hand tight and gave her a nice deep smooch and left without turning back. . .
The expressions were priceless and if only my power vocabulary was better, I'd have attempted to describe them as though I were them. All I can see and feel was how sad she was, looking at him leave and how hard was it, for him to leave someone he loved, and at that particular moment when she had these pair of puppy eyes, begging him not to go...
It's pretty much how simple 2 person can make up, why can't most people just try?
