what is education

a channel where knowledge is obtain? a means to a higher starting salary? a social measuring scale? a journey? ----------- The haze has caught most Singaporeans off-guard, at it's peak, the PSI was 471, way above the hazardous level set by the NEA (National Environmental Agency). The previous high was at 271. I believe our government was not well prepared for this "natural" disaster, announcements, direction and reaction were real slow. People often talk about us, complaining about the inefficiency of the government, and the bigger picture. Dr Vivian Balakrishan, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources made a statement on the day we broke the 300 barrier, "Dr Balakrishnan was responding to questions from reporters on whether such an order was imminent, after the PSI hit hazardous levels on Wednesday night. He said the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has guidelines in place which all employers adhere to, and the MOM will give an update on Thurs

Relishing 1 of the many dreams

Finally, I've started working at a coffee shop just yesterday. Owning one, has always been my career "dream". It is a very small shop, probably 150sqm tops, 4 stalls in total, a Muslim stall, chicken rice stall, a drinks stall and the "Tze Char" stall. Tze Char: "An all-rounder Chinese food stall serving a wide variety of a la carte dishes usually with white steamed rice and soups. A zhi char stall usually has the highest sales turnover of the eating outlet that it occupies and thus forms the anchor tenant and main draw of the eating place, typically a coffeeshop. Also spelled 'zhi cha', 'zi char', 'zi cha', 'cze char', 'tze char'; in Mandarin, 煮炒 (pinyin: zhu2 chao3) which literally means 'cook & fry', in reference to the de rigueur use of frying (almost always with woks) in preparing most dishes." The Tze Char stall usually only operates for dinners, due to the type of dishes serve

Bites

Blog bites ~ too much to updates, too little time, sorry ain't about food ;) Girls / Ladies ---------------- I love em I hate em, they stop in the middle of busy walk way to text, they filter lanes without signaling or checking blindspots, evident as to how they walk. They'd use the bags  to nudge, they cut queues and feel they have the right to do so, they'd "slip" through doors so they do not have to use their hands on the doors. And finally their stinking stuck up attitude. Of course not all women are like that, but most of them are these days. I really hate their stinking guts. Continued failure ---------------- My PC went on a 3rd bypass in less than 9 months. I lost 3 hard disk in  less than 9 months too, of which, 1 was bought less than a year. Lost 1 Terabyte of "culture", i tried to save them but it was going to be too time consuming and I may port over the bad sectors too. It's like the lost City of Atlantis for me, it go

500th post ~

The 500th post, this is and will be my longest lasting blog, i guess? It all started wit OD also known as Open-Diary: It was during the early 2000s that we started "blogging", the term wasn't "ready" then, from that I moved on to blogspot and has been here ever since, though, I've deleted 2 - 3 accounts here and there. Why? they are mostly due to and end of a relationship, and well sort of allow me to start on a clean slate. Anyway, I'd like to dedicate my 500th post to my idol, my hero and the most dependable man on earth. My dad. He has been instrumental and an inspiration to my life, ok now i feel bad for all the efforts he has put in but I'm only like that aha. He has been a GM under a few textile company, working his way up with nothing but his own abilities, the head of apparel for one of the biggest corporations in Hong Kong, Li-Fung Group, still calls him now and then. So this meant we never had cashflow issues, at least while I was g
