The Banking World - Shijied™

Aged 7 I wanted to be football player and eventually play for Liverpool.
Aged 13 I wanted to be an Air Force Pilot, protecting my country and my family.
Aged 18 I wanted to be an Aeronautics Engineer because I couldn't get pass the pilot test.
Aged 20 I wanted to be a Banker, to earn big bucks.

From dreams to logical decision, these were my dreams and eventually it became my goal and slowly it became ....

A huge change in major at aged 20, from Engineer I've decided to take on Accounts & Finance simply because that's where the money is (was). I retook a Diploma and then switch my major, switched jobs from Marcoms to Accounts and then Finance, after 7 long years I'm finally here, a Finance Associate with the 3rd largest Investment Banks by Asset. I'll tell you all what I've seen.

2015, All Hands on Deck meeting with the Managing Director of APAC ex India, 2nd most senior person on the floor. I was looking forward to this meeting as I'd really like to see how the Snr Management view the performance of APAC, especially Singapore Branch for the 2014, she sat there poised and confident and opened her speech.

As the slides slid by, I can't help but felt a very surreal atmosphere, it's exactly how Jeffrey Skilling gave his superb impressive speech on Enron's performance there and then.

We have this project, which was a system designed, NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE, yet delivered and deemed a success, we, Singapore Branch DID IT for APAC, it's rolling out to Msia, Korea and Taiwan. The States are screaming for help.

We then went to give the finger to EMEA, who did not believe the cost cutting and investment in technology would be possible. So now, we've not only sold a dud to the rest of Asia, but to US and then it'd be to EMEA. Once EMEA found out how crappy the system truly is, they'd not say a word, cover it up and say it worked !! Why? can they afford to be on a consecutive losing streak compared to APAC?? So this can of worms just manifested into a worldwide worms galore for the corporate.

What did I realize? No one is working for the benefit of the organization, everyone for themselves, their underlying agenda, their own KPI and they get promoted the next person that comes along will bury them and pretend nothing is wrong because they do not want to be the predecessor that couldn't handle what's handed done.

Chills went down my spine as I looked at how the corporation spent millions of eurodollars on absolute whoreshit and the wankers getting promoted with the smirk on their fucking faces, #priceless.

Today's meeting, MD was there as well and a bunch of Directors and VPs were sharing how other banks are doing it using the same system and we're much better off. WOAH WHAT A RELIEF, we are this shit and there can be worst? There's no hope for Wall Street, these people are just out of this world...

Whoever told you that money in the bank is not safer then money in the biscuit tin, is truly legend.

So this is the world we lived in, the money paid to finance a CEO that is paid EUR10mio a year and all the brats downwards, I came to a realization; The superstitious belief is that humans are born into this world to suffer, the true hell is indeed on earth and those who die young are being "recalled" back to Heavens.

Amen people.

Can't believe I actually took time to update and maintain our YEI Forum. Never knew I could be this crazy, but I know 1 thing for sure, it's never too late to start? But I'm really, growing too old for this. Ye Eun simply gorgeous! Credit: yeeun-impact.net / yeeun.wordpress.com And I blew up during dinner...
While caking, someone pop right into my head. Anyway, my top strength is: 1. Ideation: loves associating and providing ideas 2. Command: leadership, loves to put his ideas through 3. Futurist: star-trek 4. Individualisation: view individual base on strength weakness, not stereotyping 5. Learner: keen to learn In short, I'm a futuristic creative open commander! Sounds awesome eh? Strength Finder 2.0 is a book that only concentrate on strengths ($39.00) zero about weaknesses so all you hear are good stuff. ======= Individualisation Anyway back to my caking session. Mr Ibrahim, came to my mind. He was quite a good looking Indian back in my primary school days. I've always tried to protect him though I admit to join in bullying him once in a while. Sometimes he'd come to me "begging" to help him or lend him money with his hands in "praying mode". I took pity of him ever since he did that once and when he told me "All i got is 40cents a day and they sto

The Pioneer LX55 Bluray Player Review

Pioneer Corporations, once the leading company for Home Theatre Systems, Display and Optical players, began to falter when the likes of Samsung, LG, Sharp etc came into picture with lower end products for the mass consumer. Pioneer, who steer clear form the niche market, producing high end products, fell to it's knees, withdrawing from the TVs market and started a joint venture with Sharp, resulted in absolute catastrophe. Pioneer fanboys nicknamed the products "Sharpioneer" A bold direction, right or wrong, there's too much points to take, although myself would 200% standby their decision to continue with making highend products previously, even though they failed eventually. Anyhow, ever since that catastrophic "Sharpioneer" released, tons of consumers ditched their players within days of purchases, the management finally woke the FUCK UP. Director Product Planning and Marketing Pioneer USA, Chris Walker started visiting multiple online forums, gat
