endless journey of the audio nirvana

Love blogging, then I'll remember stuff.

Bought the ZuneHD on April 2013, it's almost 3 years since, considering it being a used set and lasting for this long, what a work horse. However, it's dying :(((

I bought a Sony ZX-1 on my birthday early this year for a staggering SGD500.00 and made a loss of SGD100 less than 6months later. It was truly the worst player I've ever had, sound quality's decent, not great for that half a grand spent, needless to say it's useless UI (User Interface) and over complex color-ed enhancements.

Glad I sold it, good riddance, the dood who bought it from me sold it the next week he got it.

I was looking around for a new player only to find out every tom dick and harry are basing the players on the Android OS, this also meant WIFI receivers which to me = necessary noise and additional strain on the player for unnecessary stuff. They also incorporate the raving freaking useless, epic harsh on the highs Sabre DACs. #WTF #SERIOUSLY ?? Did i tell you the ZX-1 retails at $879.00 and the new ZX-2 is close to $2,000, A Fiio X7 cost USD1,000 ... for a portable mp3 player

It's like no one wants to think anymore, we'll just follow the most successful Blu-ray player in the industry who happens to be OPPO and they are using Sabre DAC, so lets use Sabre DACs. Cirrus Logic CS4398, Wolfson WM8740 and  Burr Brown PCM1796 were tested and proven DACs yet left to rot...

I guess the real essence of the human heart is showing now, greed, for new and better specs which are mostly self-fulfilling prophecies or merely placebo effect. In the pasts, good products demand good money, #period. You do not get scams or bullshit that increase the screen size for 0.25" and added 1 fingerprint function and charge you excess of USD300.00.

My anger began when a huge bulk of idiots decided the get into the "hip" van by purchasing in-ear monitor earphones. The same model, with the same number of drivers, same housing, same length of cable, new box cost S$200 more that what it used to be.

Shure SE535 @2014 = $500 @2015 = $679
Westone UM2 @2007 = S$280 @2015 =$399

I kid you not, demand > supply does not = exclusivity.
$$$$ = exclusivity. #Period.

I gave up after trying multiple earphones, headphones, speakers and players that promises so much,  I know i once said that sound is subjective and a man's meat maybe another man's poison but shit sound is shit.

Gone are the good old days where Cowon, Sony and Iriver produce solid players at a fraction of today's price. I'd probably fix my old Ipod Video and re-use it then.

Can't believe I actually took time to update and maintain our YEI Forum. Never knew I could be this crazy, but I know 1 thing for sure, it's never too late to start? But I'm really, growing too old for this. Ye Eun simply gorgeous! Credit: yeeun-impact.net / yeeun.wordpress.com And I blew up during dinner...
While caking, someone pop right into my head. Anyway, my top strength is: 1. Ideation: loves associating and providing ideas 2. Command: leadership, loves to put his ideas through 3. Futurist: star-trek 4. Individualisation: view individual base on strength weakness, not stereotyping 5. Learner: keen to learn In short, I'm a futuristic creative open commander! Sounds awesome eh? Strength Finder 2.0 is a book that only concentrate on strengths ($39.00) zero about weaknesses so all you hear are good stuff. ======= Individualisation Anyway back to my caking session. Mr Ibrahim, came to my mind. He was quite a good looking Indian back in my primary school days. I've always tried to protect him though I admit to join in bullying him once in a while. Sometimes he'd come to me "begging" to help him or lend him money with his hands in "praying mode". I took pity of him ever since he did that once and when he told me "All i got is 40cents a day and they sto...

The Pioneer LX55 Bluray Player Review

Pioneer Corporations, once the leading company for Home Theatre Systems, Display and Optical players, began to falter when the likes of Samsung, LG, Sharp etc came into picture with lower end products for the mass consumer. Pioneer, who steer clear form the niche market, producing high end products, fell to it's knees, withdrawing from the TVs market and started a joint venture with Sharp, resulted in absolute catastrophe. Pioneer fanboys nicknamed the products "Sharpioneer" A bold direction, right or wrong, there's too much points to take, although myself would 200% standby their decision to continue with making highend products previously, even though they failed eventually. Anyhow, ever since that catastrophic "Sharpioneer" released, tons of consumers ditched their players within days of purchases, the management finally woke the FUCK UP. Director Product Planning and Marketing Pioneer USA, Chris Walker started visiting multiple online forums, gat...
