#BREXIT
Great Britain's exit from the European Union.
The whole of Scotland voted to remain because they needed the export business for majority of their local produce, a staggering 62% yet the only few states within England voted to remain, largely due to London at 60%. What do these numbers tell you, income inequality breeds unhappiness. The rich are in London, majority of them aren't Brits, or ain't born and bred Brits, they are rich bankers and executives who thrived in a globalized society, so what happened? Why did UK voted to leave the EU. Everywhere else in the suburbs voted to leave the EU, not just for pride, but because they can.
UK's degree holders population only has 2X%, the whole workforce including non UK citizens are at 40%, London itself has 60% degree holders. #BREXIT only hurt those people working in high paying MNCs while those in the suburbs clearly could survive, with or without these MNCs, voted to leave.
UK is going backwards to the vast majority, but are they really going backwards? Closed nations including Japan and Korea have became great nations, Japan has always been great pioneers in innovations and Korea has recently caught up, evidently with Samsung's shareprice @ USD61 a share while leaders Apple Inc @USD90ish a share. Not too shabby isn't it?
UK used to boast great innovations and productions of machineries, Ashton Martins, Jaguar. British Petroleum, Cadbury Chocolates to name the few. They WILL survive on their own.
Yet the truth, UK is afraid, like Donald Trump afraid, like Singaporeans afraid. The finally realized that they ain't that great, being white isn't a royalty or meant that you are an upper class citizen. Same with Americans as well as Singaporeans.
In Singapore, we've been taught about free market economy, free market forces but we only experience the "real feel" of what free market forces meant in the last 10 - 15 years.
That's what it meant to be a globalized society, an open economy and a free market. The natural selection process starts and people who do not belong to the environment are harshly treated, hence people start to be really afraid, afraid of losing their homes. Truth is, is that their home? For a pianist or an athlete with talent, will you really survive in Singapore? Or should you move, are you able to move, can you afford to move, can you survive the move?
Natural Selection: the process whereby organisms better adapted to their environment tend to survive and produce more offspring. The theory of its action was first fully expounded by Charles Darwin, and it is now regarded as be the main process that brings about evolution.
We humans maybe are superior than most of our counterparts in the animal kingdom but we are still formed by organisms, are organic, we will never be able to avoid the law of natural selection.
When will we humans understand and accept the fact that earth is our home, country itself isn't, only unifying as 1 race that we can move towards the next step of evolution, to truly save our race and mother earth.
Well this will never happen so long as we are humans.
"It is to be regretted that the rich and powerful too often bend the acts of government to their selfish purposes. Distinctions in society will always exist under every just government. Equality of talents, of education, or of wealth cannot be produced by human institutions. In the full enjoyment of the gifts of Heaven and the fruits of superior industry, economy, and virtue, every man is equally entitled to protection by law; but when the laws undertake to add to these natural and just advantages artificial distinctions, to grant titles, gratuities, and exclusive privileges, to make the rich richer and the potent more powerful, the humble members of society–the farmers, mechanics, and laborers–who have neither the time nor the means of securing like favors to themselves, have a right to complain of the injustice of their government. There are no necessary evils in government. Its evils exist only in its abuses. If it would confine itself to equal protection, and, as Heaven does its rains, shower its favors alike on the high and the low, the rich and the poor, it would be an unqualified blessing."
-Andrew Jackson’s Veto of Legislation the Bank of the United States, 1832.
The only good in mankind was spread in the form of divinity, or religion as we so fondly speak of now. Religion was created by man to spread good, but the power generated by faith itself gave man so much power that they began misuse to their own advantage.
The many blasphemous sins by churches, popes, priests, monks...
Churches themselves striving for power over states...
The life cycle of humanity is still at it's infancy stages, yet the future is gloomy. We are more likely to be the cause of our own destruction rather than a meteorite hitting earth or the day the earth stops spinning or the sun dies.
At least, i won't be around to watch it, right?
