It's on a case where he is charged because he was deem part of the gang that wanted to cheat the auditors by getting the contractors to re-issue an invoice which they did not issue in the first place. Gov contracts are hard to come by, you're only awarded the contract if you are the lowest bidder, #period. There's obviously another channel to go if you wish to bypass that which requires approval and a will be under a lot of scrutiny hence, people will try to "workaround".
Some "common practice" would be obtaining 2 quotes and then letting the company that you guys to hire know of the quotes so that they can provide the lowest quote. Well it's against the law you see but many people do it just don't get caught.
So his boss went ahead with this and well being lazy they didn't request for a quotation and got the job done. The audit came and the issue was brought up to my mentor, he told his boss that this was the issue, unless they provide him with a quotation he will have nothing to provide to the auditors. This is when his boss and the contractors created that quotation, was caught and now are in the midst or already have served their sentence.
To me is fairly straightforward, in the government agencies, you do not toy with audits, if it's not there, escalate, blow the issue out of proportion so that it shows that you did whatever you could to do what's right not what's allowed.
He did not then, said that his boss sent him an email not to escalate because it will create more problems, he was in the midst of huge arguments with his wife and his dad just passed. . .

The wife, left him after all these, was never supportive, never gave him credit, was more afraid to let him know that he is right i guess. She's one blur and easily manipulated person, book/brain smart but bad at expressing herself which I believe led her to be overprotective of her own "achievements". Her husband is the only person, or ex husband, that she could openly deceive and pretend that she's great and better...
Years ago when she had issues with her family, my mentor went to talk her into going back to her family, and that regardless how bad the relationship he had with his dad, he wouldn't want to regret not being able to spend the time and create memories with him. That proved to be one shit decision he made, which in good conscience is the right thing to do but they talked her into divorce etc...
The problem she had then was with her sister, that the mother only had enough money to support either kid in university. WHAT THE FUCK? I mean, can't you just split half? I mean can't you just earn your own keep and pay your own fees? To have such pathetic thing going on, and to be brooding over issues like this in a FAMILY is pathetic, disgusting, pretentious, sad and depressing.
I've no idea why he chose to marry someone who is part of such a messed up family. I mean I'm a dumb dick-head when it comes to love so yeah, he probably did it for love.
As much as I can try, I do... when i can't, we probably just cry together. The most righteous person I've known in 30years of my pathetic life, this guy gets charged in court over such petty shit which no one who knew him would believe this would happen...
