so there hasn't been any good news at all....
1st colleague's mom colon cancer relapsed, having black stool = blood stool, colon has a hole because of the aggressive stage 4 cancer and I don't think she'd last this year
2nd colleague's mom sick with heart condition, went for heart surgery came out with complications, now she'd need to go for another surgery for a pace maker. Was very worried because I thought you'd need to stop the heart prior to that but I guess i watched too much drama, hope all's well
3rd colleague's diagnose with cancer, going op today
4th colleague's diagnose with cancer too, stage 2 early stage so should be fine
5th colleague's hubz diagnose with thyroid cancer, early stage but still...

Friend of a friend's mom has cancer, refuse to sell their condo to finance her medical, they claim that they sent her daughter to overseas and now that she's a trader, it's only right she pays for it, it's not the first time either of them has requested money from her. Notwithstanding their daughter having to pay rent living in prime area probably $5k a mth because they want to provide the best education so you have to stay within 2km of the school to get priority entry. Then her husband, who use to earn 30k/mth decides to call it quits because he can't stand reporting to someone younger and is earning S$3k/mth doing his dream job as a retail assistant with Apple, refuses to go back to work to help finance for his own family but rather, living for his own selfish dreams.
My friend who spends on everything the best for her kids, max out her credit every month spends hundreds of dollars on her daughter's hospital bill because she keeps getting sick and all. While she take her kid to the best possible care available it comes at a cost and she's been yapping abt money issues and her hubz a house husband bcuz well, with a pair of twins and a new born, you can't expect any helper to be of any help aye? Recently moved in to their own place spent loadsa money on reno and furnitures etc. . .
So while colleagues mom is sick it's fine covering for them for work, doing a S$200 quarterly donation of dog food to the shelter because i cant be damn about cats, sorry for being bias. Loan that friend S$550 to save the stray cat which died, i honestly don't feel really sorry for that friend who is earning easily 20k a month because well... and her parents have a condo at hand to finance that... same for the other friend, she's raking in near 20ks... i mean what about those whose combined income after CPF deductions not even 3 grand?
While the cancer thingy is real, and it's getting the best of us, especially more so in urban metropolitan cities where stress levels are high and junk foods' a plenty... i don't know, i really just don't really know much about how sorry or how much sympathy a human being should have anymore.
I mean i've said this 200,000 times, this would be the 200,00st1 time, that if we share the resources around the world, food, shelter, water... we won't have any poverty, famine, drought or crazy diseases and the only reason why the world is not doing that is Power. Power to manipulate, influence, benefit onself, of course also to feel superior or better than others.
The whole capitalism isn't really a fair game right, inverted pyramid ... the ones at the bottom crying foul while those at the top would say they work their ass off and deserve it...

I really just don't know anymore.
What i know is, I'm definitely one of those that truly understands the model of capitalism and sociological aspects of human interaction to put oneself in the best possible position for comfort. Why comfort, while some need $3k a mth to feel happy, others need S$3m a year to feel worthy. To each his own.
At age 30, probably i get to understand why some people gave up everything they have to set up shelter, schools etc for the poor to people like Mother Theresa ... I probably can see how real their intentions are... Maybe it's all a facade, maybe it's an act, maybe....
Alright i definitely need that break.
