Social Cohesion - the impossible

Before getting into what “lack of cohesion” means, it’s probably worth covering the idea of cohesion. The act or state of cohering, uniting, or sticking together. In the simplest terms, things are cohesive when they stick together and stay together.  That applies to the wide world, as well as to software.  When you describe your group at work as cohesive, people will understand you to say that they work well together and get along . -quoted from  https://blog.ndepend.com/lack-of-cohesion-methods/ Recently Singapore began banning E-scooter on footpaths effectively TODAY. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/e-scooter-ban-on-footpaths-singapore-lta-pmd-12061404 So what am I blabbering about again. The use of e-sccoter aka PMD (Personal Mobile Device) had it's issues in recent years. There were multiple injuries and misuse by users which not only cause harm to themselves but others. How? - Speeding, PMDs are capable to go up to speed of 70-80km/h ...

Cognitive Deficit.

Cognitive deficit is an inclusive term used to describe impairment in an individual’s mental processes that lead to the acquisition of information and knowledge, and drive how an individual understands and acts in the world.  -medscape website. Does cheating have any correlation to cognitive deficit or do people with cognitive deficit have higher tendencies to cheat?  Nothing came up much on google. I seriously have no fucking clue why the fuck are these cases appearing so much closer to me but right after that post of my poly mate, something messed up came up the next day. -------- So on Friday, we left the office together, this guy codename Hamlet was with us. Hamlet was the guy that I brought into office and had some differences in opinion at work with. He's a stud right out of the box, behaves nonchalantly cute to most girls, nice and kind, that perfect boyfriend material plus he's tall enough. So we left office together with another colleague and Hamlet ...

EVOL - *

Sociology taught me to not view things from the common sense way and instead, look at things in different perspective. A very classic Dr. Sunny Goh lesson begins with "Maybe the problem with racism is racial segregation or divorce is the idea of marriage" Many would scoff initially but then it all make "sense". If there's no concept of marriage, there wouldn't be divorce to begin with. Of course, eliminating is not the solution for everything, still it is an option. Today I met up with my an old pal Mr Chong whom I met during my Polytechnic days. Majority of my closest friends always started off with the wrong foot, he was this ridiculously loud and enthusiastic guy from a single gender school his entire life, I was this "trying to be cool" and "too good for this course" dude so I never really wanted to get along. I forgot how we started hitting off but he introduced anime to me and started passing me discs and that was how we...

Choice[s] -

"compromise is only for the strong, the weak can only follow" I read this quote in some movies or drama which resonates with me very closely. I once explained this concept to my dear friend Mr Sim, to get him to stop measuring people to his level, especially when they are our teammates. So one day, the other friend whom i introduced into the team, gave a very "strange and unfounded" remark, and I snapped. Eric: "I chose August because I want them to report" Me:  "Yes i know you want but why do you want, we need to justify" Eric: "No, because I want him to report it" Me: "You can't say things like that, this is not your father's bank, you can't just use your opinion to request submission of a specific time, your opinion does not matter to them" Ouch?? Harsh but fair in some regard. When you are self declaring yourself as a Regional Governance in a Japanese Bank, your opinion does not matter...

I'm sorry

I'm sorry i did not fulfill my promise to blog monthly, July and August had been very stressful. I had to dug deep to maintain sanity, efficiency and remain alive. Anyways, after 2 weeks of not being home over the weekends, I decided to come home earlier on a Friday, instead of the usual Saturday evenings. I called mom to ask if she wanted to have supper because i was having my dinner, she was stumped and very excited. As usual, she ignore my question and ask something else, I immediately steer her back to my question and end it there.  A warm welcome is always good to have when you're coming "Home" after some time. But sometimes I wonder if it's the same for every parent, longing for their kids to be home. Sooner or later I will not be within reach and they will have to get used to it? The few things I love about Singapore is the safety and security, the low taxation and crazy efficient on everything. The latter contribute a lot to the stressful enviro...

Mopped up May and June's JUDGEMENT !!!

Didn't post any shitz in May because I was too busy at work. My buddy came into the bank and I had to show him the ropes around, fight with external people and trip internally by our own "civil war". Somehow I managed to survive. The friend is into his 2nd month and I have been quite harsh on him because it's my reputation on the line that I brought him in, he got a promotion in corporate title, increase in base pay and will be getting some nice bonus next year too. How harsh had i been? To a point where our manager had to private message me to check if that is the "normalcy" tone or language my friend is used to me talking to. Opps? My boss explained his views and I did so with mine, we agree to disagree and then moved on. It's a very beautiful affair to have such an understanding boss, he checks on each and every one of us to ensure we are doing OK every day. He thank us specifically for our efforts on each and every chore he entrusted us w...

Amazing April

As we bid farewell to the menacing March of 2019, remember the lost of my Huawei P20 Pro ?? I've got it back !!! WHAT ARE THE FUCKING ODDS of retrieving your mobile phone in this age right? So I did file an online report with the Singapore Police Force on lost of property with the intention of blacklisting my phone's IMEI [ International Mobile Equipment Identification ] to discourage shops to take in this mobile phone because it was obtained illegally which would in turn would lead to lesser phone thefts. To my amazement, the police went down to the location, retrieve the CCTV and with details provided to them on the time, location and made of mobile phone, they managed to identify the person who "had" my mobile phone. I was told, by the security that "some guy took it" on the day of the event, before I decide to call it quits and head home. HOWEVER it turned out that a staff from the same supermarket i was shopping in, "picked" my phone whi...
